I struggled with this for many years growing up, not quite knowing what it was and just thinking that I just had “rosey cheeks”. I also had the raised bumps all over my cheeks.
As a teenager it became more bothersome, we didn’t use make up at school so there was no way of covering it up.
I wasn’t red all the time, just in the most inappropriate of times. It would flare up when I was too hot, too cold, embarrassed and even when I wasn’t embarrassed, which subsequently made me embarrassed.
Rosacea is a long-term skin condition that typically affects the face. It results in redness, pimples, swelling, and small and superficial dilated blood vessels. Often the nose, cheeks, forehead, and chin are most involved. // Wikepedia
I couldn’t even stand in front of the class without going completely red.
As I have matured I seem to have more control, however it is always there under the surface.
I have people say to me you always have good skin. However, they forget that I am a makeup artist and know exactly how to tone down redness. In fact I wouldn’t leave the house with at least a light powder to help calm the redness. I would even use a dusting of mineral powder before going to the gym.

I knew that when I went to the gym I would likely sweat it all off, but then by the end of the workout we would all be a little red in the face so it didn’t really matter.
It wasn’t until a couple of years ago that I discovered a product – a face mask that I was able to considerably reduce my Rosacea. This mask helps to restore the natural moisture to the surface of the skin.
It happened gradually over the course of a few months and by 7 months I saw a complete change in my skin. I now continually use this product to help keep it at bay and also help keep my skin fresh.
