Jess moved to Australia in 2008 all the way from Chicago, USA. She backpacked across Australia before setting up home, and business in the Whitsundays.
She is the women behind The Wedding Planners Whitsundays and manages to keep it all running smoothly on your wedding day. She is cool, calm and collected when it comes to ensuring your day is everything you’ve dreamed of and more. So how does she do it and still remain composed and above all smiling!
How did you come to be a Wedding Planner?
Seven years ago I saw a job advertised with a Whitsunday wedding decor and planning company and now I own my own business The Wedding Planners Whitsundays.
How do you maintain your calm cool appearance when dealing with Weddings?
Loads of practice. Knowing that there is always a solution and not to freak out.

What is something about you that no one knows?
That I am a Qualified Chef.
Your previous job, was that as a Chef?
No, like all backpackers I did some bar work. I also managed the marketing for the bar.
What is your guilty pleasure, or secret indulgence?
Shopping!!! I feel it is my reward for working hard in my job. I absolutely love to shop
What are your hobbies?
Diving, I am an advanced Scuba Diver.
Your favourite book?
I love reading, but don’t seem to find the time, however my favourite would be “3 Cups of Tea” by Greg Mortenson
How many hours a day do you work in your job?
An embarrassing amount.
How do you juggle the life/work balance?
Not very well. It is something that I am slowly learning. I also have a business coach.
So if you don’t mind me asking, would say you are a workaholic?
Yes I am definitely a workaholic.
What do you like most about weddings?
There is never a dull moment, it is always busy and keeps me on my toes.
